About College

Established in June 1970 and administered by Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Mandir, Nashik, Arts and Commerce College Yeola is an educational institution founded by Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiray, a notable educationist, social reformer and the former Revenue Minister of Maharashtra. Being affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, it is recognized under UGC ACT (2 F) and (12 B) and has a current student-strength of approximately 1917 students in Arts and Commerce faculties. The college boasts of a qualified teaching faculty with impressive academic and research experience, with most of them actively involved in academic, research and extension activities. The college remains committed to uplifting the rural, poor and minority communities in the region, following the motto of the institution “Bahujan Hitay Bahujan Sukhay”. The college aims to achieve multidimensional development of the students, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Situated in a convenient location with spacious premises and a well-established building, Arts and Commerce College Yeola has a good library, gymkhana, and a computer training centre to meet the educational needs of the students. The college also has two Post-Graduate Departments, namely M.Com and M.A. Economics, that have been efficiently working since 2007. The college takes pride in its NSS unit, which has been working with traditional legacy, and its efforts in grooming their students in sports under the guidance of reputed sport personalities. The college guarantees that every student has an excellent academic record to boost their competitive efficiency in today's competitive world.

The college's alumni is a testament to the college's success, with former chiefs of Yeola Municipality and four former corporators of Yeola and Nasik having been members of the College's Alumni. Mr. Babasaheb Kapase, the prominent industrialist of the region, is also a strong alumni member of the college, having previously owned the Kapase Paithani Industry.

History

The Arts and Commerce college was established back in June 1970 and started as a school of Arts and Commerce. Eventually, it expanded to become a fully-fledged institution of higher learning, offering both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in both faculties. In fact, in the year 2007, the college added a postgraduate section to its Arts and Commerce departments - a clear testament to its commitment to academic excellence.

While the college prides itself in providing quality education to all its students, it holds dear its pledge to uplift poor and rural learners, taking into account their unique circumstances and challenges. In this regard, the college diligently provides adequate scholastic support and generous assistance, attending to the holistic development of all its learners through proper and well-planned extra-curricular activities. The college boasts of well-qualified and experienced teaching staff, as well as ample and modern facilities, such as a spacious and well-stocked library, an equipped gymnasium, and a computer training center.

Currently, the college offers postgraduate courses in M.A. Economics and M.Com, alongside undergraduate programs in Marathi, Hindi, English, Economics, Political Science, Geography and Psychology, under the Arts Faculty. In the Commerce Faculty, Marketing Management, and Cost and Works Accounting are specialized courses that serve to hone the skills of would-be business professionals.
